Comments This intein was originally submitted to the database by Pietrokovski as a B.subtilis intein, but the data of Lazarevic indicates that it is in the B.subtilis SP beta prophage.
In addition to the intein coding sequence the bnrdE gene contains a Group I self-splicing intron.
Intein penultimate aa is S, not H.
This intein has 2 aa differences compared to the Bsu RIR1 intein from strain M1918.
